Wow, I haven’t updated in several months.

Being pregnant just seems to be really hard on me. I’m pretty much done being sick, but I’ve started having headaches again, and between those and the fatigue I’m not getting a lot done. When the headaches first started I went to the ER and got an MRI. Everything still looks good around my chiari and syrinx. It’s possible that the pregnancy has increased the pressure in my spinal fluid. No one really knows. I had an ultrasound last week, though, and the baby looks great, especially around his little spine and brain. And we are definitely having a little boy. His name will be Chase Steven. Emily thinks this sounds like a superhero name.

Easter was fun. Emily got a ton of candy and toys. I got her a football and Mindi got her knee and elbowpads to go with her rollerblades. I got Tabitha some candy, too.

I’ve got an appointment today with the ‘regular’ high-risk ob/gyn. The other guy that I see is a perinatologist – a maternal-fetal specialist. The doctors have no idea what this pregnancy entails, but so far it’s perfectly normal, other than the stupid headaches. Then I’m going to go help Emily’s Girl Scout troop with some badges.

  1. Glad to hear you’re doing ok. I was starting to get a wee bit concerned when I hadn’t seen anything from you or Chris in a while.

    And for the record…the name “Chase” always reminds me of the bank. Maybe he’ll grow up to be rich!

  2. Wait a minute…

    Spud’s a *girl*? Wow I have been out of the loop. 😉

    I feel for you with the headaches. I had terrible migraines growing up. Of course I was told it was “all in my head” ha ha and was never treated. Everyone in the family accused me of being a hypochondriac, even when I was too young to know what the word meant.

    Wolfspouse was sick every day of the pregnancy. It turned out she had a bad gall bladder that ended up being removed three weeks after the birth.

  3. Weeeee, a Spud-post 😉

    So sorry for you about the headaches, hope they go away and that you allow yourself the rest necessary. Good to know things look all right and that you’re in good hands.

  4. ::Hugs::

    Glad to see you posting, though I am sad that the migraines came back. It sounds like you have a good team of doctors you are working with though. Good name, too!! Chas Steven. I like the way that sounds.
